About Us
CareGiver Training Institute has raised and continues to raise the standards for those entering the direct care workforce and continues to upgrade and stabilize the current direct care workforce.
The CareGiver Training Institute (CGTI) is a not-for-profit corporation with the primary mission of addressing the needs of elderly and individuals with disabilities, who require long term support and services. This purpose is fulfilled by recruiting, training, and developing Caregivers and Certified Nursing Assistants to perform their roles of enhancing the lives of those who have chronic illness or frailty due to advanced age or disability. CGTI accomplishes this goal with excellence, compassion, integrity, and reliability.

Mission
To develop people-centered highly qualified caregivers to meet the increasing needs of the elderly and disabled of all ages.
Uniqueness
· Graduates receive two Certificates of Completion, Caregiver and Nursing Assistant, allowing for more flexibility in the job market.
· Students are screened and selected according to their ability to be a quality caregiver and nursing assistant.
· Program far exceeds the required training hours as set forth by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
· Largest CNA training program in Southern Arizona with training centers in Tucson and Green Valley.
· High School programs; Pima County JTED, Rio Rico and Nogales.
· 1000 graduates since 2002
Objectives
· Graduates will pass the state exam on the first attempt.
· Graduates will understand the difference in the scope of practice between a Caregiver and a Certified Nursing Assistant.
· Graduates will understand the uniqueness of each client and how to improve their client’s quality of life through person-centered care.
· Graduates will understand how to be a valuable employee and team member.
· CGTI will provide educational opportunities for underserved and lower income individuals to obtain a quality education to enter the health care field.
